Funding Forecast: Estimate Increases for ACF Fatherhood Program

The HHS  Admin. for Children & Families (HHS) plans to soon release the Responsible Fatherhood Ex-Prisoner Reentry and Mobility competition (CFDA Number: 93.086) (Funding Opportunity Number: HHS-2015-ACF-OFA-FO-0992).

Eligibility: State and local governments, public housing authorities and nonprofits; Funding (Estimate): $7.5 million for five awards (the agency previously anticipated $6 million for four awards).

Deadline (tentative): June 4, with the solicitation released in early April.

These funds support reentry programs that provide innovative community-centered, pre- and post-release responsible fatherhood and supportive services to formerly incarcerated fathers. Projects must be designed to support activities that promote healthy marriage and relationships, improve parenting skills and alleviate barriers to social and economic self-sufficiency in a manner that strengthens families, empowers formerly incarcerated fathers and reduces the likelihood of recidivism.
