Agency’s Domestic Violence Prevention Competition Focused on Children/Youth

Agency: Justice Dept. (Office of Violence Against Women, OVW); Program: FY 2016 Consolidated Grant and& Technical Assistance Program to Address Children and Youth Experiencing Domestic And Sexual Violence and Engage Men and Boys as Allies (Consolidated Grant Program) (CFDA Number: 16.888) (Funding Opportunity Number: OVW-2016-9002); Eligibility: Governments and nonprofits; Funding: $10 million for 14 awards up to $750,000 each (no match required); Deadline: Jan. 19.

Summary: Comprehensive child- and youth-centered prevention intervention projects, particularly those which are school-based, receive priority. OVW wants to fund strong community partnerships through this program. Collaborations should include nonprofit victim service providers, violence prevention groups, child- and youth-serving organizations, anti-domestic violence men’s groups and tribal and local governments.

This competition consolidates four previous OVW grant programs: (1) Grants to Assist Children and Youth Exposed to Violence Program; (2) Services to Advocate for and Respond to Youth Program; (3) Services, Training, Education and Policies to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking in Secondary Schools Grant Program; and (4) Engaging Men in Preventing Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Program.
