Fisher House Foundation, Newman’s Own, Grants to be Available

Summary: As we predicted, the 2015 competition opens in February with multiple grants available to volunteer and nonprofit organizations supporting the nation’s military families (http://tinyurl.com/ogvxbrv). Eligible organizations must be comprised primarily of volunteers, and support active duty, Nat’l Guard, or reserve units or installations. The foundation has a history of supporting children’s programs. It awarded $4 million in grants to nonprofits providing nutrition education for children and families, as well as projects aimed at feeding hungry children, improving their health and/or reducing childhood obesity (www.newmansownfoundation.org).
