Summary: The foundation considers all types of efforts, including homelessness, housing, community development, seniors and education. The foundation won’t fund religious groups, research or athletic groups, as well as single-disease efforts. Youth groups have received funding in the past. The foundation was also a bigger support of Philabundance (http://www.philabundance.org/), an effort in Chester, PA, to provide funding for a supermarket-style food bank. It gave $500,000 for the effort. Philabundance is the region’s largest food bank and hunger relief organization. It became the first supermarket in the city in over a decade.
