K-12 Projects Can Apply for Hershey Foundation Support

schoolPrivate Funder: Hershey Foundation; Funding Focus: Education (priority is given to: alternative educational programs for children of all ages; arts, cultural and science programs for children, and early childhood education programs); Geographic Focus: Northeast Ohio; Eligibility: Nonprofits; Funding: Up to $225,000, the foundation distributed about $1.2 million in grants last year; Deadline: Dec. 1 (the last 2016 deadline).

Summary: The Hershey Foundation gives special attention to unique, innovative and creative projects which improve the lives of children in Northeast Ohio. Priority goes to funding pilot projects that can be replicated in other settings. The foundation gave the Hawken School $100,000 for the Early Childhood Education Center at the Lyndhurst campus.
