C-SPAN, the cable news network that covers Congress, will soon launch its student video documentary competition, StudentCam, which seeks projects that examine national issues important to youth.
Deadline: (TBD), the 2016 deadline was Jan. 20.
Students must create a short (5 to7 minutes) video documentary on pressing issues before lawmakers. $100,000 is available for 150 student prizes and 53 school prizes. The maximum award is $5,000, plus $750 to the winning school to spend on digital video equipment. Students grades 6-12, individually or in teams, can apply.
