Summary: Education grants support early childhood education and pre-school efforts. For early childhood education centers, the Daniels Fund focuses its support on quality improvements and capital construction or facilities improvements. It does not make grants for general operating support or tuition assistance. The funds are allocated geographically according to the following percentages: Colorado, 65% (50% in metropolitan Denver, 15% in balance of state); New Mexico, 10%; Wyoming, 10%; national programs, 10%; and Utah, 5%.
Youth programs can benefit. The foundation gave $1.2 million to Stand for Children, Denver, for a public education/child welfare campaign; $340,000 to the Denver’s Young Americans Education Foundation for operating support; and $40,000 to the New Mexico Child Advocacy Network, Albuquerque, NM, for a child development project.
