Summary: In the education category, grants are provided to higher education institutions as well as other educational organizations whose purpose is to promote systemic change in K-12 classroom instruction or provide innovative programs to improve education. The medical category focuses on hospitals, clinics, and medical research organizations. Grants are also provided to health organizations for programs designed to increase the effectiveness of medical care. In the cultural/arts category the emphasis is on organizations that promote music, theater, drama, history, literature, the arts, or other similar cultural activities.
