Center Will Lead Food Safety Research

Purpose: The grantee will fund a center that focuses on food safety research for the nation’s nutrition programs. This includes: the Nat’l School Lunch Program; School Breakfast Program; Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program; Child & Adult Care Food Program; Summer Food Service Program; Special Milk Program.

The new center should plan on drawing on expertise from various fields, including food service management, food safety, food microbiology, agricultural production, education, psychology, sociology, research design and statistics
