Transportation Foundation Grants to Launch

Summary: The foundation supports nonprofit organizations enhancing the quality of life for the residents within the region served by Norfolk Southern, primarily in the Eastern, Midwestern, and Southern United States. The foundation offers grants in four principal areas: educational programs; community enrichment focusing on cultural and artistic organizations; health and human services (primarily food banks, homeless programs and free clinics) that support basic needs; and environmental programs. Education programs have been supported in the past; the foundation gave $15,000 to Young Audiences of Virginia, located in Norfolk, VA, for a K-12 arts education program. Applicants must use a web-based form to process their requests.
