WK Kellogg Foundation Seeks Applications for Community Awards

Foundation: W.K. Summary: The foundation refocused its funding priorities, making its key area of interest helping vulnerable children. One way to do this, the foundation believes, is through building and enriching community assets. Within this focus area, the foundation seeks to, strengthen vulnerable families and children by building economically vibrant and socially just communities.

The foundation also refocused its giving by region. The three strategic goals are:

  • Thriving Children, which supports a healthy start and quality learning experiences for all children;
  • Working Families, with a focus on efforts to help families obtain stable, high-quality jobs; and
  • Equitable Communities, which promotes vibrant, engaged and equitable communities.

Embedded within the Foundation’s work is a commitment to racial equity, to developing leaders, and to engaging communities in solving their own problems. Geographic priority areas in the United States include the states of Michigan, Mississippi, and New Mexico, and the city of New Orleans; however, promising programs throughout the U.S. are also supported.
